What is LessonLink?
LessonLink is a feature of the CALI website that lets faculty create a unique hyperlink to an already existing CALI lesson. Faculty can use this hyperlink on their courses web pages (i.e. TWEN, BlackBoard, class blog, or other course website) or send it via email to their students.
If the LessonLinked lesson supports ScoreSave. If students save their scores, faculty can review the student's scores from the lesson individually or in aggregate.
LessonLink is different than simply linking to lessons from TWEN, for example. Links to lessons from TWEN do not allow faculty to see students' scores; in contrast, lessons linked to a TWEN page using LessonLink will permit faculty to see students' scores if students use the ScoreSave feature.

What lessons can I create LessonLinks to?
Right now you can create links to the Flash versions of the CALI Lessons. Note that not all lessons are available in Flash.
How long will LessonLinks last?
As long as faculty are using them. We won't look to clean up a LessonLink until at least one year of inactivity has passed. At that point, we will attempt to contact the faculty member who created the LessonLink and only them disable it (but not delete it).
Why would I use LessonLink?
As a faculty member, you can use LessonLink to track your students use of specific CALI lessons. When students follow your LessonLink, we record that lesson run and you will be able view how many students follwed the link.
If you ask students to save their scores using the ScoreSave feature, you will be able to view individual students scores or all scores in aggregate.
If you merely assign students to use a CALI lesson and they do so on our website (without using your LessonLink) or from the CALI CD, you will not be able to see whether or not they used the lesson or saved their score.

I want to create some links, how do I get started?
You can begin the LessonLink creation process here. It is a 3 step process and takes just a few minutes. You may want to review the CALI Lesson Catalog to get an idea of what lessons you would like to create links to.
Here is a step-by-step guide to creating lessonlinks:
1) Log in to your CALI Account.
2) Click here to start the lessonlink creation process.
3) On the first page, select the subject of the lesson to which you want to create a lesson link.

4) On the second page, fill in the information at the top and select the lesson to which you wish to create lessonlink.

5) On the third page, copy the URL that lessonlink has created. Forward this URL or paste it on a website that is accessible to the group of people you want to use this lesson. You should also receive an email from CALI with this URL included.

6) Students must log in to their CALI accounts and use that exact lesson link URL to run the lesson online in order to track their lesson usage.
7) To see the data for a given lessonlink, after logged in to CALI.org, go to the link titled "My Lessons - Links" on the side menu.

8) Click the details button of the desired lessonlink and you will see who ran the lesson through that link and at what time. Scores are only shown if the student used ScoreSave within the lesson. If the score was saved, you will be able to see how each lesson user answered each question.
